Head, Shoulders, Knees & Toes
with Krista Shirley

A fun, eye-opening, challenging, and game-changing workshop for practitioners from all styles of Yoga! Come laugh and sweat with Krista as she delves into the physical exploration of the body through Yoga asana. How we hold our bodies up, move our head, maintain posture or not, walk, sit, and move all determine so much of how we feel in the body in which we live. Yoga practice alone does a great deal to improve posture, align the spine and musculature, our stance, and more, but that alone isn’t enough! Let’s look at how we can bring awareness, mindfulness, and effort into how we live in and carry the body both on and off the mat. Suitable for all levels. 🌟

Yoga Chikitsa (Yoga Therapy) & Pranayama
with Krista Shirley

This traditional Sanskrit counted class will explore the fundamentals of the Ashtanga Yoga Method in a led/guided classroom setting. The Vinyasa system, expanding the breath, and the principles of the bandhas and drishti will be covered. Experience continuous movement with breath, learning the harmonious flow of the first series in its traditional form. The Primary Series will include Sun Salutations, standing postures, seated postures, and all finishing postures from the Ashtanga Yoga tradition. This class is recommended for those already exposed to Ashtanga Yoga practice.

Jumping through & Jumping Back
with Krista Shirley

Want to learn how to safely and gracefully execute vinyasas? We will explore using the bandhas, the lats, the core, body positioning, breathing, hands, head position, and the pelvis in order to paint a full portrait of the art of jumping back and jumping through. The key to jump backs and jump throughs isn’t momentum, it isn’t about the length of your arms or the amount you weigh. Spend the afternoon with Krista learning how to skillfully jump back and through. Suitable for all levels.

Mysore & Pranayama
with Krista Shirley

Mysore style is traditionally practiced silently, with individual instruction, and is named after Mysore, India, where Ashtanga yoga originated and was taught by Sri K Pattabhi Jois for many years. Anyone is welcome to come to this class. Students will work at their own pace according to their individual needs, while Krista walks around the room providing hands-on adjustments and verbal instruction as needed. If you do not have the primary series memorized, you will spend your first few weeks in class repeating bits of the standing sequence until it is committed to memory. Mysore style is the absolute best way to learn and practice yoga. It enables you to create a dedicated daily practice that will take you infinitely deeper into the peace and calm a quiet mind and strong body can provide.

Jumping through & Jumping Back
with Krista Shirley

From the gross to the subtle, this is what yoga is about. To do that, we start with the physical body using asanas and movement to create a fit and strong body, which gives us the framework to cultivate a fit and strong mind. The Ashtanga Yoga method is brilliant as it helps us cultivate physical strength while at the same time helping us evolve our mental and spiritual realm. The asanas themselves become more and more challenging as you work through the first and into the second and third series. This workshop is designed to assist practitioners on the physical plane focused on fundamental techniques that will aid in building strength and a solid physical foundation that will assist the student in their Ashtanga asana practice and their overall spiritual journey. Krista will teach you how to cultivate strength and steadiness of body and mind by exploring alignment, isolated strength-building exercises, meditation techniques, positive thinking, affirmations, and much more. Suitable for all levels.
