Join Sava for a comprehensive four-week immersion into the Ashtanga Yoga system. Here’s what you’ll explore:

Course Structure:

Week 1: Introduction to Ashtanga Yoga essentials, correct breathing, and the vinyasa system. Discover the eight limbs of Ashtanga. Focus on alignment in Sun Salutation A and adaptations for your needs.

Week 2: Explore the standing sequence to refine posture and alignment.

Week 3: Dive into the seated sequence, practicing focused gaze (Drishti) and correct vinyasa.

Week 4: Complete your foundation with the closing sequence, encapsulating your new skills and knowledge.

MYA is located at 3575 N. Piedmont Rd. in Buckhead. Park in the Bldg 15 covered garage on levels PLAZA, P2, or P3. Enter 0413# on the keypad to enter through the glass door located on PLAZA level. Go left down the hall and take one of the six elevators down to TERRACE. Turn right down the hall at the illumined sign, and MYA’s front door will be on your left.

Cancellation Policy: Full refund available until one week before the course begins. In case of emergency, tuition can be transferred to another course.

Structure

Week one:

Intro to ashtanga and understanding what yoga is. You will learn how to breathe correctly, understand the vinyasa system and become familiar with the five aspects/elements of yoga, as well as the three points of attention known as tristhana.

You will also be taught the eight limbs and the three stages of progression within the system, which are:

  • physical
  • energetic
  • devotional

During the second hour, you will learn the detailed alignment principles of the sun salutation A and B, their corresponding vinyasa counts and any variations based on your physical needs.
